The Ever Growing 'Community'
An Editorial by: Saige
December 18, 2001

WARNING: Some material may be too inappropriate for the immature webmaster/internet browser. If you find anything in this editorial derogative and/or offending, I suggest you take your anger and shove it.

As I was browsing all the millions upon millions of anime sites now, along with their forums, I began to see a controversy beginning to brew. All these people who claimed that the anime 'community' (and I use that term VERY loosely) is becoming a waste hole for a bored, uninspired youth. They continue on about how these 'newbies' are acting so childish, like 5 or 6 year olds who just want to be cool. After reading such comments I came to realize how polluted these peoples minds are. I have here a quote directly from the owner of Saiyan Legacy (http://www.szlegacy.com) concerning the subject (Grammar errors in tact and all):

"Tons of people say thats was ruined the community - These "New" Newbies that appears this summer - and I beleive it. The old newbies weren't little 5-12 year old punk bitches like today."
What he fails to realize is that this 'community' was never anyone's. Later he rephrased his question towards these people by saying (and again, I quote):
"What I meant by Today's Newbies is that at least 75% of them are little kids or dumb fuckers who want to bother other webmasters and steal their shit. And YES there are still GOOD Newbies that aren't bad, but nowadays there tend to be more "Newbiephobic" webmasters. Sorry to the good new webmasters that aren't little pricks"
I'm sorry bud, but you have to realize that the internet is run freely. You'll only stop hating these 'newbies' once you realize that this 'community' of yours isn't just yours. It's a free place for people to do as they wish, do what they wish, when the want to do it. Pardon my rudeness but the only reason you're complaining is because you're passing judgment on so many god damn people it's making you forget why the hell you became a part of this 'community'.

Besides, nobody ever realizes that when they join a community, they were just as dumb as all the new ones that they see coming in. Just accept it, and possibly help them out and then they won't be a dumb as you make them out to be.

I came to UDBZ in January of they year 2001 (12:00 midnight of New Years Day to be precise) and since then I haven't seen any examples of his claims. I don't believe that these 'newbies' are as dumb as everyone says they are. I believe that all these hypocrites are forgetting the real reason why these anime sites were even established. Most were trying to spread anime to people who they thought would enjoy the anime. Episodes used to be free, way back when DaBlackGoku was just a little scruffy site with free episodes trying to get recognition and popularity, but was just a site that had about a 40 character HTTP and broken links to their episodes. Even with that, he knew why he was making his site. He wanted other people to have the chance to enjoy what he loved dearly. Because of this, he's now a well known part of this 'community'. Now it's 40,000 pop ups and forced voting, then once you're done with that THEN you get the broken episode links. These hypocrites are what ruining their so-called 'community' in the first place. Bitch and wine, bitch and wine, my suggestion to them would be to quit sitting on your hands, moaning and groaning about how they want their community to be and do something about it. Take your forced voting, money-grubbing hands and just shove them up your ass once you're done with your whining.
